BIOGRAPHY
I am a professional copywriter with more than 15 years’ experience helping clients develop written communication that really hits the mark. Pulling from a diverse background, I understand how to address a wide range of requirements for business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketing communications and other promotional material.
Accustomed to working with small groups as well as large, multicultural teams, I often find myself in the role of facilitator to ensure that the job gets done right—on time and on budget. I believe in paying close attention to detail, maintaining respect for my clients and always succeeding at reaching our goals.
I’ve written for a variety of formats, including customer stories, brochures, Web sites, product data sheets, newsletters, articles, e-mails, press releases and video scripts. My experience spans the high-tech, government, financial, education and healthcare industries.
For more than five years, I was a copywriter at IBM Marketing Solutions, an internal creative agency for the technology giant. Prior to my IBM career, I worked as a journalist, software technical writer and corporate communications specialist for a nonprofit student financial aid organization.
I founded The Write Strategies in 2003. My current clients include a company that develops web-based software for the home healthcare industry; a web hosting company; and a creative agency that produces strategic sales collateral for Fortune 50 companies. I hold a B.A. in English from UNC – Chapel Hill and an M.S. in Technical Communication from NC State University. I also serve as vice-president of marketing for the Triangle-based Independent Communicators Alliance (ICA).
